Many skeptics were against the rematch and they wanted the Oklahoma State Cowboys to get the bump up to the big game, but in the end, the SEC reigned supreme.
Once the bowls were announced, college football betting fans went scrambling to find the latest odds on the big game. Top rated sportsbook, BetOnline has the LSU Tigers as 2 point favorites. This makes complete sense since the last meeting between these two teams was decided by a field goal.
The line opened up at LSU -1, but was quickly bet up to -2 with the great showing that LSU had in the SEC championship game. The opening total was set at 40.
With the line out, the next thing to cover is the game preview. Between now and January 9th there will be plenty of coverage on this event but here are a few things to watch for.
Alabama has had extra time to prepare and that week off could make the difference when preparing for the Tigers. Statistically the Crimson Tide has the better defense and on January 9th both defenses will be out to shut down the opposition.
Another thing to watch for in the big game will be trick plays. LSU head coach Les Miles will have some time to prepare for this game and will have to mix things up if he hopes to get the same outcome from the first meeting. My pick will be released later on this game, but look for more game previews on all the bowl games leading up to the All State BCS National Championship Game.
