Bowl week is finally here and one of the earlier games of the week is the Little Caesars Bowl, featuring the Western Michigan Broncos against the Purdue Boilermakers. This may not be the most glamorous game on the bowl schedule this week, but it is worth the watch as both teams have some talent on the field.

The Little Caesars Bowl odds for this game opened up with Purdue listed as 2.5 point favorites. There is close to even action on this game as 58% of the betting public is on Purdue, but that is not enough o move the line in this game.
Both of these teams are not stellar and they have some serious ugly losses, but they were selected for the bowl game. QB Caleb TerBush leads Purdue into this game and while the Boilermakers offense is less than impressive, the Western Michigan Broncos defense is atrocious. They allow over 26 points per game and have not been able to stop anyone this season. If the Broncos want to keep up with Purdue they will need a good output on offense.
QB Alex Carder leads one of the most underrated offensive teams in the country. They have skill at more than one positions and rank among the top teams nationally on offense. That led them to scoring an average of 35 points per game and this offense will get even faster on turf as this game will be played on Ford’s Field.
Western Michigan has the experience edge as Purdue will play in just its first bowl game in five years and that means that they will have no experience coming into this game. The college football bowl game sports betting trends also favor the Broncos.
The Boilermakers are 0-5 against the spread (ATS) in their last 5 non-conference games, 1-5 ATS in their last 6 vs. MAC, and 1-3-1 ATS in the last five games overall. The Broncos are 7-1-2 ATS in their last 10 games following a win and 8-3 ATS in the last eleven games overall.
Purdue is a small favorite in this game, based on name and not talent. Look for a high scoring game with the Broncos getting the bowl victory.
