Both of these teams entre this contest with an 8-4 record. San Diego State opened up as a 5 point favorite when the college football bowl games odds were released. Despite public backing on the Aztecs this line has been knocked down to 4.5 in several offshore sportsbooks. This is most likely due to smart money as the sharps are betting on the Ragin’ Cajuns to make this a game. Click Here for Odds on all the BCS Games

If that is going to happen they have a big hurdle to jump.

The Aztecs play in their second bowl game in consecutive years and they bring some serious experience to this game. They also bring the best player to the game. Sophomore running back Ronnie Hillman is a superstar in the making and he will be the main offensive cog for this club. You may not know it because he is not a household name, but he was third in the nation with over 1,600 rushing yards. Hillman was the main reason the Aztecs finished in the top 30 in total rushing yards and is poised to have a field day against a Louisiana-Lafayette defense which allowed almost four yards per carry.

But before you buy into the Aztecs here are a few things that you should know. The Aztecs will basically be playing a road game as this game is in New Orleans and it will also put the Aztecs in a tough spot that they have failed at before. The Aztecs are 1-4 ATS in their last five games as a favorite and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games on turf.

The Ragin' Cajuns are 13-3 ATS in their last 16 games as an underdog and 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games as an underdog of 3.5-10.0. They embrace the underdog role and use it as motivation to play a solid football game. The Ragin' Cajuns are 18-6 ATS in their last 24 games following a loss and will win this game outright on the field.
