USC Trojans vs. Colorado Buffaloes Game Preview and Pick Against the Spread
The Friday night college football schedule has two games on the slate, but the highlight of the night is the game between the USC Trojans and the Colorado Buffaloes.
The college football odds for week ten opened with the Trojans as 21.5 point favorites as they are by far the superior team. As expected 83% of the football betting money is on the Trojans as they make the trek to play in Colorado. This number currently site at 21 points at many of the offshore sportsbooks, which is a clear indication that the smart money is on the home team.
USC is off a gut wrenching loss to the Stanford Cardinal in 3 overtimes. This loss was devastating and it is still being discussed on the USC campus. Head coach Lane Kiffin blamed the referees and said that he was lied to, only to retract the statement later in the week. It is obvious that this loss is lingering and will still be on the mind of the coaches and the players when they kick off on Friday night.
This is a soft spot in the schedule as they travel to face lowly Colorado in cold weather. Matt Barkley is one of the best young signal-callers in the league and with Robert Woods as his main target, the Trojan offense is hard to beat, but expect some letdown in this game. The Trojans will not be focused on Colorado and fatigue will play a role after a long overtime game playing in the high altitude.
The Colorado Buffaloes have yet to get a win in conference since joining the Pac-12 and this game is their Super bowl. The Buffs are at home in front of a national audience and could make their mark by getting an upset victory over USC. QB Tyler Hansen has been under pressure all season, but only has six picks in 282 attempts this season, a clear indication that he protects the rock. The Buffs have been banged up all season, but will get some key players back just in time for this game.
The Buffaloes are 8-3-1 against the spread (ATS) in their last 12 home games, 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games in November, and 6-2-1 ATS in their last 9 games as a home underdog. The Trojans are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 games as a favorite of 10.5 or greater and 2-5 ATS when playing a team with a losing record.
The Trojans will fall behind very early in this game and have to recover for a win, but they will not cover this number. Take the home underdog on national television getting the points in this game.
